Francisco Leiva-Landabur - Senior Director of Engineering

He has a degree in Chemical Engineering from Catholic University of Valparaíso, Chile,

He also holds a Master degree on Engineering and Management of Renewable s fromBarcelona University, Spain; Master on Corporate Social Responsibility from Barcelona University, Spain. He is a Certified Energy Manager; Director of ACESOL (Chilean Association of Solar Energy).

Francisco has a vast experience -over 30 years- in the international field as a consultant for world-wide known entities such as the World Bank. He has been involved with projects of different nature like managing on-crisis companies. He has one of the better outcomes at world level, in terms of reducing energy losses: 3.9% per year.

Francisco also holds among other diplomas a Certificate Degree on IT Management. Catholic University, Chile. Course on Introduction to Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Competitiveness. Francisco´s vast experience for the last 26 years encompasses among other positions, the following:

Utility Senior Consultant (2015 – to date) ADAM SMITH INTERNATIONAL, Nigeria Responsible to provide advisory to Nigeria’s Minister of Power on recovery of on-crisis electricity distribution subsector.

International Consultant for On-Crisis Power Sectors (2014 - 2015) He provided advisory services to Ministry of Power of Sierra Leone, hired by suggestion of World Bank.

Partner and Manager (2013 – to date) HIGH ROD Ltda. Specialized Energy Company oriented to provide EPC and ESCO services for renewables projects based on solar, wind, mini-hydro, geothermal and biomass.

General Manager (September 2010 – May 2012). The Electricity Distribution Company of the East (EDEESTE), Dominican Republic. Responsibilities on: 750,000 customers; 2,000 employees; US$500m annual revenues; US$90m OPEX annual budget; US$70m CAPEX annual budget. Main achievements: ° 3.9% annual energy losses reduction, representing about US$26m in terms of revenues increase. ° Developing of several electrical networks rehabilitation projects financed by IMF, WB, IADB, OPEP and Dominican State, with a US$70m total investment, to benefit 135,000 households.

Energy Advisor (March 2008 – June 2010). ADAM SMITH INTERNATIONAL, Nigeria. Responsible to advise to the Ministry of Power of Nigeria to recover the Electricity Distribution Companies from bankruptcy, with focus on Abuja, Yola, Eko and Ikeja utilities, with an average of 550.000 customers each of them.

Francisco has wide experience on strategic planning for a high impact on business and service, on developing a high performance organizational culture based on integrity, on designing and performing social management to achieve social legitimation for their businesses and social capital with communities and main stakeholders.

With regards renewables (NCRE) projects based on energies such as solar, wind, geothermal and biomass, Mr. Leiva has domain on: on-grid and off-grid projects designing (Conceptual, Basic and Detailed Engineering) for utility and distributed generation scale; Economic Assessment; Environmental Impact Assessment; and Operation and Maintenance processes and procedures.

He has been acting as international consultant acting in a variety of countries such as Chile, Argentine, Republic of El Salvador, Dominican Republic, Nigeria and Sierra Leona.
